12/8/14 - Great Recording Of The Lamb - Providence RI

Early Lamb recordings are abound on YouTube. One that captures the spirit of how important Genesis was in the Northeastern part of the United States is the Providence RI recording. It has been acknowledged by band members that that Upstate NY and New England were a critical part of their early success in the states. It is great that we have a historical archive of their early concerts. I will continue to add more to our blog to capture the history of Genesis. Just a quick note, Pete has an interesting take on the promotion of the concert in the beginning of the concert. Also, there are some great sounds to this concert that are true treasures for fans to enjoy.

The Lamb and the Singles

Happy New Year! 2017 is upon us. For new members and current members, the Positively Genesis Blog has a live bootleg section that gets updated periodically. It is chronological and has excerpts from all eras and solo work. I found a great bootleg of the Lamb in Amsterdam this time around. I also found some early Hackett work from Tokyo. Also the solo careers have some update. Check them out when you get a chance and enjoy!

New Updates

I found some new music from the archives on YouTube to update the blog. I found a crisp live Genesis bootleg from 1970. I also added some great concerts for Pete and Phil. I will continue to update the live music and always welcome suggestions.

Phil And Pete Live

People may forget that the friendship with Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins would lead to further collaborations after Genesis. Phil played drums on several tracks on Pete's earlier work, including the song"Intruder", which featured the reverse-gated, cymbal-less drum kit sound. Pete insisted on no symbols on his third album and the sound would be carried into his earliest works until the 1980s. This type of percussion arrangement would be repeated by Phil on "In The Air Tonight." Phil would play for Pete during many live concerts, and have many appearances going into the 80s. Sometimes, a Genesis song would also have a special appearance during a concert. Archives are on YouTube and we will search for them for fans to enjoy.

Solo Concerts To Be Added

As we expand the blog, music choices will be added from concerts that solo members of Genesis have done over the past 40 years. This will provide hours and hours of additional works for fans to appreciate while at home or work.
