I found some new music from the archives on YouTube to update the blog. I found a crisp live Genesis bootleg from 1970. I also added some great concerts for Pete and Phil. I will continue to update the live music and always welcome suggestions.

Genesis - Four Great Tours

Whoa, Genesis fans just get more creative with the live shows. A new link I found this week is Genesis Four Live Tours. As the title indicates, four hours of great live music. Another great edition to the live archives.

The tours are as follows:

Genesis 1976 Lineup: Tony Banks, Phil Collins, Steve Hackett & Mike Rutherford; touring percussionist Bill Bruford.

Genesis 1977 Lineup: Tony Banks, Phil Collins, Steve Hackett & Mike Rutherford; touring percussionist Chester Thompson.

Genesis 1978 & 1980 Lineup: Tony Banks, Phil Collins & Mike Rutherford; with touring percussionist Chester Thompson and guitarist Daryl Steurmer

Phil And Pete Live

People may forget that the friendship with Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins would lead to further collaborations after Genesis. Phil played drums on several tracks on Pete's earlier work, including the song"Intruder", which featured the reverse-gated, cymbal-less drum kit sound. Pete insisted on no symbols on his third album and the sound would be carried into his earliest works until the 1980s. This type of percussion arrangement would be repeated by Phil on "In The Air Tonight." Phil would play for Pete during many live concerts, and have many appearances going into the 80s. Sometimes, a Genesis song would also have a special appearance during a concert. Archives are on YouTube and we will search for them for fans to enjoy.

Solo Concerts To Be Added

As we expand the blog, music choices will be added from concerts that solo members of Genesis have done over the past 40 years. This will provide hours and hours of additional works for fans to appreciate while at home or work.

New Concerts From 1972

I found a few new concerts from 1972 for your listening pleasure. Interestingly, the concerts from their earliest days are roughly over an hour. Pre-lamb is great to listen to as the band was developing their stage performance towards being more theatrical.
